125^TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION Events

        First Presbyterian Church will celebrate its 125^th anniversary on Saturday and Sunday, October 1^st and 2^nd.  Church members and friends will gather at the church at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 1^st, for a program featuring reminiscences of the church life, including recollections by five past ministers: Rev. James Shannon, Rev. Dr. Jack Terry, Rev. Gary Fravel, Rev. Sandra Stuart Gray and Rev. Glenn Polzine, special music, planting of an anniversary tree, a DVD of church life pictures and distribution of a church history pamphlet.  The program will be followed by a light dinner served at 4:30 p.m.  There will be games and activities for children beginning at 2:30 p.m. and continuing until dinnertime, and tours of the church facilities.

        On Sunday, October 2^nd, an anniversary worship service with Holy Communion conducted by the Rev. Dr. Bruce Brooks, who was installed as Pastor at First Presbyterian in March of this year, will be held at 10:00 a.m. with participation by visiting clergy.  The service will be followed by a catered dinner in the fellowship hall at about 11:30 a.m.

        The public is invited to all events.  The only charge, and need for prior reservations, will be for the Sunday dinner, $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12.  Dinner reservations may be made by calling the church office at 715-483-3550 or Carol Vanek at 715-483-3740 no later than September 25th.  The church is located at 719 Nevada Street west of the fairgrounds between Simonson Road and Tower Road.  Directions are available on the church’s website at www.scffirstpres.com.
